Abstract
In this paper, we apply geographic oversampling approach in Waksberg et al. (1997) for Race/ Ethnicity by using 2010 U.S. census data. Some comparisons between 1990 and 2010 census data are discussed. Specifically, we extend the application to the census region and CBSA level. We consider the sampling rates as well as the reduction of sampling variance compared to the simple random sampling. In addition, we apply the proposed method to examine the renting status of occupied housing units. Some discussions about estimation of multiple rare population parameters are also presented.
